VACANCY FOR THE POST OF TRANSPORT ENGINEER - MALDIVES

1. Position                       : Transport Engineer – Urban Planning
2. Qualification               : Degree in a relevant field with minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Scope of Work

Responsible for designing, planning, and managing transportation systems and infrastructure to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable networks that meet the needs of communities and businesses through collaborative teamwork and reliable solutions.

• Conduct research and gather data to assess transportation needs, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop transportation plans, considering factors such as population growth, traffic patterns and environmental impact.
• Use traffic simulation software and modeling techniques to forecast traffic patterns, congestion and travel times.
• Evaluate traffic signals, road signs and lane configurations to optimize traffic flow and improve safety.
• Design and plan roadways, intersections and other transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for construction projects.

Job Skills and Specifications

• Proficient in using transportation planning and traffic simulation software
• Expertise in designing and planning transportation systems, including roads, highways, and public transit networks
• Able to use analytical skills to evaluate the success of transportation projects and make changes to improve the project.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate the success of transportation data and make informed recommendations.
